WalksGPX

Your walks live in Health. WalksGPX gives their routes back to you.

The Problem

Health records your walks, but its routes are difficult to browse as an archive or use elsewhere. WalksGPX makes them searchable by month, puts each route on a map, and exports ordinary GPX files you can keep and use in other tools.

The Solution

A personal iPhone and Mac archive for browsing walking routes, viewing them on a map, and exporting them as portable GPX files.

What it does

  • Browse walking workouts by month, date, and duration
  • See a selected GPS route on an interactive map
  • Export GPX files to share or save outside the app
  • Keep an iPhone and Mac library in sync through private iCloud storage

What took work

  • Read HealthKit workouts and routes without writing to Health
  • Import long walk histories while handling missing or unavailable GPS routes
  • Keep CloudKit library sync separate from portable iCloud Drive exports
